(ReMix Button) Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency public hearing
On the 18th of January, Ministry of Trade, Economy and Industry had its Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency hold a public hearing where experts review the results of the stress tests regarding the Oi nuclear power plants operated by Kansai Electric Power Co. in Fukui prefecture (located in the central region of Japan's main island). Unlike the previous one, the Agency had the hearing closed to the publc. A group of Japanese citizens demanded that the Agency allow them to observe the hearing. Also, they demanded that the Agency get rid of three members of the hearing saying they received donations from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries that built the plants. The agency turned down their demand and resumed the hearing in the other room while two members (Mr.Goto and Mr.Ino) refused to attend the hearing saying the hearing should be open to the public. At the end, only four of the original members remained in the hearing, and they came to conclusion that the results are reasonable. Strangely, almost all the major news media in Japan only reported that anti-nuclear protesters disrupted the hearing. The Behjatabad-Abyek site, code-named '311', is 85 percent complete and can fit several thousand centrifuges, according to the main opposition group People's Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI). Iranian military personnel secretly began constructing the site, deep inside mountains between the cities of Abyek and Qazvin, in 2005. The group's information was unveiled at a press conference organised by the Iran Policy Committee in Washington. Iranian opposition official Soona Samsami named Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Defence Minister Brig. Gen. Ahmad Vahidi as top officials involved in the secret project. "So far the regime has spent 100 million dollars on the project", she said, adding that the International Atomic Energy Agency had deliberately been kept uninformed of the site by the Iranian authorities. Alireza Jafarzadeh, author of "The Iran Threat" and director until 2003 of Congressional Affairs for the opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran, added: "The site has a tunnel as the main entrance, 8 meters wide and nearly 200 meters long. Despite statements by President Obama that he wants to see the world reduce, and eventually eliminate nuclear weapons, the US Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration continues to push forward on a program called Complex Modernization, which would expand two existing nuclear plants to allow them to produce new plutonium pits and new bomb parts out of enriched uranium for use in a possible new generation of nuclear bombs.

Japan nuclear agency reports dangerous radiation levels in nuclear plant
Fox News' Shepard Smith has reported that Japan's Nuclear And Industrial Safety Agency is making note of dangerous radiation levels -- 1000 times the normal amount -- in the "core" of the Fukushima I nuclear plant. The plant's cooling towers, which usually keep temperatures from getting too high, are not functioning. Concerns are mounting as the temperature continues to rise. God help those people.

Operation Argus (1958) Atmospheric Nuclear Tests
Courtesy National Nuclear Security Administration / Nevada Site Office Operation Argus was a series of nuclear weapons tests and missile tests secretly conducted during August and September of 1958 over the South Atlantic Ocean by the United States's Defense Nuclear Agency, in conjunction with the Explorer 4 space mission. Operation Argus was conducted between the nuclear test series Operation Hardtack I and Operation Hardtack II. Contractors from Lockheed Aircraft Corporation as well as a few personnel and contractors from the US Atomic Energy Commission were on hand as well. The time frame for Argus was substantially expedited due to the instability of the political environment [bans on atmospheric and exoatmospheric testing were forthcoming]. Consequently, the tests were conducted within a mere half year of conception (whereas "normal" testing took one to two years). en.wikipedia.org

The results show the amount of radioactive substances in the atmosphere, external exposures and accumulation on the ground. A map from March 12th, a day after the disaster, shows radioactive substances first flowed towards the southeast and then gradually moved north. The Agency says it calculated the data based on updated figures obtained from the nuclear reactors through June. The 600 pages of information are available on the internet. More Lies! Japan's Nuclear 'Safety' Agency Admitted Pro-Nuclear Symposium Was Faked - MOX Fuel
Nuclear agency's meddling revealed again Another case of questionable conduct by Japan's nuclear regulator has come to light. A former official of the nuclear safety agency has admitted asking a regional utility to mobilize its people for a government symposium on nuclear power 5 years ago. One of the agency's former section chiefs told NHK that he made the request to an executive of Shikoku Electric Power Company ahead of the symposium in Ehime Prefecture. The former section chief said he pushed the utility to take part actively in the event by posing questions and expressing opinions. He said he wanted its participation because opponents of nuclear power had prevented constructive debate at a similar symposium the previous year. The former section chief denied that his aim was to manipulate public opinion. Still, Shikoku Electric mobilized retired employees and people from its affiliates, providing some of them with samples of the desired questions and opinions. The theme of the symposium was the planned use of mixed uranium-and-plutonium fuel at the utility's nuclear plant in the prefecture. Back then, the company was waiting for local approval to start this method of power generation. Earlier, another utility --- Chubu Electric --- reported that the nuclear safety agency had asked it to make sure that questions in favor of nuclear power be asked at a government symposium in 2007.
